Review Of Sphinx's Queen
I recieved a copy of Sphinx's Queen from Random Buzzers!
I just started reading the first book so basicaly I read the series backwards. Even though I didn't read Sphinx's Princess I got into the story of Sphinx's Queen quickly! The book introduced the characters really well and did a great job of explaining what happend to cause their situation in the begining. The chapters where Netfertiti, Nava, and Amenophis were traveling in the sea and desert were very vivid and it felt like I wasn't reading, but seeing a movie played out in my head. Which is a very good thing!
I also really liked her escape from the old fisherman and her boldness when she travelled to the very camp she and the others were trying to escape to save Amenophis. Her intellgence really surprised me, she was able to thinks things through very quickly and the author made it easy to fallow along Nefertiti's train of thought.
By the end where Nefertiti befriends Thutmose. It really shocked me, but then grew to love Thutmose where as before I really dislike the character completely. Thutmose's personal growth really got to me and it got to a point where I really wanted him and Netfertiti to marry! I thought that was were the story was going when Amenophis became involved doing his mothers every whim. I didn't see enough of Amenophis to keep him in mind at the end. He really wasn't there much and exspected more of him.
Anyways the ending was sad, beauitful, and great. I highly recommend this book to history geeks and fantasy lovers! It had both without any conflcition! I definitally going to check more of Esther Friesner's writing! I can't wait to read her third historical princess series Spirit's Princess!

Last of the Halloween Read-A-Thon!
I just now finished Sweetly by Jackson Pearce! I'm really happy I got this book because its even better than Sister red! I even got the opprotunity to meet Jackson! She's very funny and likeable! I had questioned myself if Sweetly would be a good read for Halloween, but I was wrong! It's spokey and romantic! Read it!
Ms. Pearce and I! XD
The beautiful cover of Sweetly!
Read-A-Thon continued....
I have been so busy this weekend! Anyway right after I got done reading Lockdown I started Arcana Imperii Origins by Ben Hamby! I pick this book up at the Austin Teen Book Festival by a vendor who was self publishing. A sercret obession I have is Gargoles! I off handedly asked the author/vendor if he had any gargoles in his novel. He looked at me shocked and asked how on earth did I know?! Lol so I finished this last night and I really like it!
Here's what the back of the book says:
In a Victorian world of steam powered machines, where airships drift through smoke filled skies, monsters are real. Not just the deadly creature who so famously walked through Whitechapel, but the genuine article.
Vampires roam the sooty streets of London. Werewolves wander the countryside. Beautiful maidens lure the lonely to watery graves, while medical miracles like reanimation and the division of good from evil are within mankind's grasp.
But this age of dark enlightenment has its protectors.
Vampire. Werewolf. Killer. Reanimator. Innocence and Evil. Demon.
The Arcana Imperii- the Secret of the Empire.
Because sometimes, it takes a monster to kill one.
I really enjoyed this book! I loved the historical references to Jack the Ripper and Resputin! This book is very creative and entertaining! I highly recommend it! Plus it's perfect for reading for Halloween!

Another Read-A-Thon!
Halloween is my favorite time of the year! Ironicly I do not read many horror or thrillers! So I'm particapating in the Frightful Fall Read-A-Thon!
Host by The True Book Addict.
I just finished my first book for the read-a-thon!
I could'nt find a summary of the book so I'll at that into my review!
The setting takes place in the near future where was meet young Alex. He and his friend Todd have a little career in robbery. One night when they plan on hitting and house Todd and Alex run into a nasy surprise. They don't into the homeowners; far worse. They run into a wacky group of men who shoot Todd point blank and frame Alex.
This period in the future many gangs went on a killing spree causing the government to build the Furnace. The ultimate jail for juvinile deliqueints.
Furance ints your ordinary jail, its miles underground and is full of mutant dogs that will eat you as soon as look as you and crule inmates. Its a very chilling and oringinal book! I loved Smith's descriptions of the monsters and the whezzy's. The ending really gripped me because the read finds out what happens to the inmates that get taken in the middle of the night. I can't wait for the secound book Solitary to come out!

The Emerald Atlas
Just finished reading it! Very good!
Three orphans are constantly moving from orphanage to orphanage. Yes the usually beginning of many books. But the setting is quickly changed with the children go to and island. The mood completely changes and it gets better and better! I wont give spoilers. I just want to say its definitally worth the wait!!
